FOOD BANK OF NORTHEAST GEORGIA Works toward ending hunger by recovering donated food and distributing it to more than 200 non-profit human service agencies in 20 counties.
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY Athens Area Habitat for Humanity was founded in 1988 on the basic principle that everyone in the Athens community deserved the opportunity to own their own home. In addition to helping residents achieve their dreams of homeownership, Athens Area Habitat is also dedicated to eliminating substandard housing in Athens and its surrounding counties. Since its inception 15 years ago, Athens Area Habitat for Humanity has built homes with over 40 families in the Athens Area.
INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK OF ATHENS Holy Cross is a host church of the network, which addresses homelessness in a personal way by providing meals, services and home-like lodging in churches for families who are temporarily without living arrangements.
SAMARITAN COUNSELING CENTER is an interfaith counseling service of qualified professionals who provide confidential, compassionate services to individuals, families, and community groups with respect for personal beliefs and values. Established in response to expressed community and congregational needs, the Center is dedicated to helping the whole person and to providing educational and growth opportunities.
LUTHERAN SERVICES OF GEORGIA is also affiliated with Lutheran Services in America, which is an alliance of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod. LSGA provides a variety of services to Georgia communities including adoption and foster care services, refugee resettlement, family care and disaster relief.
